Parents should teach abstinence. Abstinence is the only 100 percent effective method of birth control. It is also important that teens understand the importance of using birth control if they choose to become sexually active. Teens are often more embarrassed to talk to their parents about birth control than they are afraid of having unprotected sex. School health programs can provide teens with general information on birth control methods but i strongly believe parents need to educate their teen kids on the importance of waiting to have sex until they are ready and being responsible enough to use protection.
.

This is really good. The only problem with this idea is that most parents do teach their child about abstinence and I agree, it is the best way to be 100% pregnancy free, but regardless of how many times the parents talk to their children about sex, most teens just go off and have sex.
ReplyDeleteif the teen has a connection with their parents about it and still goes off and has sex, it most likely will be protected
ReplyDeleteIf you're old enough to have sex, you're old enough for the consequences.
ReplyDeleteWell, some parents are embarrassed too, or become so overprotective, that teens don't want to talk to them. Parents need to take a stand and say something, teens need to stop being shy and be honest with their parents. Simple.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with your opinion that "Parents need to educate their teen kids on the importance of waiting to have sex until they are ready and being responsible enough to use protection." It will also make the parent and child have a closer relationship in some cases.
ReplyDeletei agree
DeleteI think ALL parents preach abstinence. It's up to the child on whether or not they wanna listen. No parent wants to think about the idea of their child havn sex. I think it would be more effective if a parent preaches the importance of abstinence n then say if yuh do chose to have sex tho make sure you're protected n so onn...
